Help deciphering his body language?

This guy came up to me in a club and told me I was very attractive and asked if he could dance with me. He asked me questions about myself while we were dancing and he asked me for my number. We then hung out for about an hour or so. He suggested we'd go sit for a while and when we sat down we talked for a bit then there were several moments of silence where he just stared at a sports game on the screen. Anyways he told me I could go home with him but I don't do one night stands and thought maybe that was what he was looking for so I told him I wouldn't mind if he goes and dances with someone else. He asked me why I was pushing him away and that he was happy with me and that he'd like to see me again sometime. We went and danced some more then he said that he wanted to go check out another club then head home as he had work in the morning so we said goodbye. That was 2 days ago and he hasn't called or texted yet.

Never happened with me after going Vegetarian, so I don't think this is one of the "side effects". However, as someone else said, it's probably from the Vegetables.

Is it wise to take AP Physics before regular physics?

My school wouldn't let me take AP physics (turns out they told all the girls we couldn't do it, but let all the guys take it). I took honors instead, and didn't do very well (the teacher really didn't know what he was talking about, I had to correct him several times). I still got a PhD in physics and I'm working in astrophysics. If you want to take AP physics, go for it. But there's no point in taking regular physics after that, and you might still want to take intro physics in college to make sure you have a very strong background in the basics. And even if you do poorly in it, who cares? Anyone can major in physics in college, they don't have entry requirements to the major.

Is this a good weight loss plan?

It sounds goo to me, but i suggest excising a bit more, like after you do your thirty minute workout take like a ten minute break and work out for thirty more minutes, also go for a jog for like 30 to 45 minutes and cut down on the turkey sausages and ham eat a fruit or salad you could try to call a 1800 number and order some work out equipment, hope this helps, and this my sound disgusting but try to lose some wait on the toilet if you know what i mean, sorry if that sounded rude or gross

How do I stop snacking on fruit?

there is no problem with eating fruit, but there IS a problem with only eating fruit. its ok to snack on fruit, in fact its great! but at the 3 core meals try to eat some protien the reward yourself with fruit.

What Courses Should I Take?

While they AP may help you get into college a little more, or give you college credit for chemistry, calculus most likely would be more helpful for both astrophysics or computer science. If you have the option of taking an AP or IB physics/mathematics class, go for that.

I'm living alone for a month, what are some fairly decent and tasty meals that I can prepare?

Whether you live alone or prepare food for a family it is always a good idea to make extra and save cooking time and conserve on energy. I presume your home has a freezer. Buy freezer paper and freezer tape or use reusable freezer containers and put the extra helpings away for a later date. Cooking alone is especially difficult when some foods are sold only in larger quantities. I would make a turkey or chicken and then wrap the rest in single portions for a week later. Most foods freeze well. I make single lasagna portions in small metal ice cube trays. I love spareribs and cook two racks at one time. I create fabulous soups and put small servings in used yogurt or deli containers to freeze. Then I take it out frozen, turn it upside down, put it under hot running water for a few minutes. It disengages itself from the container and can be put in a soup pot with a little additional water to have homemade soup. You can make croquettes or burgers in advance and freeze them as patties. When you remove them frozen you can either defrost them or cook them until they thaw. Bon Appetite.

Microbiology or astrophysics?

So I have an internal debate going on between which of these two I should pursue as a future career. I'm enrolled for the Academy of Mathematics, Science, and Applied Technology magnet program at my high school, so it's not really like I can weed out one based on that. My family, while supportive, offer no real help, and I was wondering if anyone out there might know anything that could help me make the decision (yes, I still have time, and I have done research, but I would like to know where I want to go, and a bit of personal testimony never hurt anyone). It would also be helpful to know what courses would be required for each one, and things like that.

Ok so I'm a 14 year old boy and I have always only liked girl. Until about a mouth ago. This new kid moved on my street. He's my age, a little bit taller, dark hair, works out, and has an amazing smile. So thing about the way he looks couldn't make me keep my eyes off off him. So I got to know him and he is pretty much awesome at everything from sports to video games, and we share a lot of things in common. In fact it felt weird and oddly enjoyable. Then he started to say he was sorry I kissed him back. I don't know why I guess I was still curious or something. Haven't been hungry lately, What could this be a symptom of?

I used to eat sometimes 2 servings at meals, but now I can barely finish one. I've been super sleepy and thirsty, though. I've probably had 5 full meals in the past 2 weeks and the rest just small amounts at meals. I'm just worried and wondering what this might be... I want to eat regularly again.

Aerospace Engineering Major with PhD is Astronomy/Astrophysics?

Dang, I'd say yes by far compared to my stats. I'm not up to par with prestigious colleges, small universities I prefer, but I would contact the department head of a certain major you are wanting to achieve at Harvard, and introduce yourself and try to get signed up with the school that way instead of going through admissions. I always call the program coordinator instead of directly talking with admissions even at community college and ask questions because than they will see how dedicated you are. Good luck, and you have a lot of extra curriculer activites and show that you are dedicated to helping your community. If you are convincing and determined you can get anywhere. Oh, and btw, you need to watch "How High" about two stoned rappers, Method Man and Red Man, who got into Harvard. If they can you can lol.

What else should I do to get into Princeton?

I'm starting grade 7 after summer ends and I've just realized that I haven't really done any extracurricular activities. I've just started fencing last month and I'm thinking about gymnastics since I'm naturally flexible (but I'm too old :/) or maybe cheerleading? I have one of the highest scores in my grade and learn very quickly. I am thinking about having a bachelor's degree in engineering physics and a phd in astrophysics or should i take physics as an undergraduate instead? But if I take engineering physics if my plans of becoming an astrophycist fails,I can probably get a decent job but I don't know what I would do if I don't get a job in astrophysics and only have bachelor's degree in physics :/

20 credit hours per semester - manageable?

It sounds like your going into this with a very cocky attitude. If you can stay cocky once you get that homework load I think you'll do fine. All the people I know who load up on credit hours like that seem to spend most of their time talking about how much work they have though, not necessarily complaining, more like bragging. But if you think you can do it, and then you do do it, I'm sure you will have a fantastic time telling your fellow astrophysicists how you did a bunch of extra work to get an extra degree.

IISc Bangalore is offering B.Sc Astrophysics. or else go for IIST Trivandrum which offers B.Tech. What is the future of ambitious Indian students in Sciences?

I study in standard tenth, with a grade-sheet that proves me an equally good performer in Sciences as in Humanities; personally, I have done extensive research and writing in both these fields of study, and am well-read and at ease with both. For standard eleventh I have decided to take up Sciences: I intend to follow this up with studying Physics (Hons) under St Xavier's University and a later course in Astrophysics from Rajabajar Science College. However, I am plagued by a few more practical facets of the issue. In most Indian universities, reservation for SC/ST/SCST/OBCs turns out to be a huge problem (my own, highly academically accomplished sister did not get a chance in Jadavpur University on account of SC/ST/SCST/OBCs candidates', with lower grades, applying for the same courses as my sister). I have heard a lot about how able, young minds in Sciences had to undergo heavy internal politics in Indian universities and had to face not only unnecessary, but wasteful, hurdles in their struggle to reach the top. If you do an MD/PhD program, it will take about 7 or 8 years. If you do them separately, it could take 10 years. This time is just getting the degrees, not the necessary training you have to do after your education.

Trans fats don't cause weight gain, but they do contribute to heart disease. As long as you stay under the recommended 5 grams per day then you'll be fine. Just be careful not to buy anymore products with partially hydrogenated oils.

I see how you got to where you did. It looks like you made one small mistake though. The logarithm is a base 10, not base e so you should have 10^22/5. Other than that though, you did just what you should have. There isn't enough information to know by how much the flux increased. You need at least one more piece of information. Either you need the value of the constant, or you need one of the two fluxes. Without those, this problem is not possible to do. It may be though that your teacher simply wants the difference of the log of the fluxes. Often in astronomy (and physics in general) one works with the logs of numbers rather than the numbers themselves because it is simpler to work with them being that they're smaller. So either a piece of information has been left out, or you're supposed to give the difference in the log of the fluxes.

there is no time in space it is always moving, in fact you are still and not still at the same time. the fact that this is an illusion based on the universes expanding is very hard to calculate but if you look at it right it makes sense. the space ship is 950kg divide that by the astronomical equation of space wieght then calculated the stars gravity and divide the amount of power that antimatter can create then multiply the speed of light compared to the speed of normal space travel that will give you the equation of light. In other words the spaceship traveld at the speed of light which manipulated the amount of time it took to get there. hope it helped

'Rocket science' is really more along the lines of aerospace engineering than physics or astrophysics. Physics/astrophysics are research fields; you might build things, but you usually aren't building rockets. Aerospace engineering is offered at plenty of schools, including many state universities.

How much studying does it take to get a degree?

Some fields require more work than others, and some people pick up concepts faster than others. If you're getting all A's, you don't need to compare yourself to anyone else. If you're not, maybe you should be working harder. It would help to figure out what you're going to do with that degree; you'd need a PhD to do much of anything in the field, and you'll need great grades and research experience to get into grad school. If you've got a lot of free time, look into starting research with a professor. There is no magic amount of hours you need to spend studying. It depends on you.

I am still in middle school (which gives me time to think and plan my future before i slack of at high school). I don't live in the uk nor the us. I really want to get a phd in astrophysics someday. I know it takes really long, but I heard that Cambridge has a program which allows me to get a bachelor's and master's degree in 4 years. But the phd program is quite long, 4 years? (I think?) but I also heard that in the us, it takes an average of 2 years. Princeton has always been my dream since I was 10. Originally, I wanted to go to Princeton for my undergraduate's and graduate's degree. Can I go to Cambridge for my bachelor's and master's in physics and Princeton for my phd in astrophysics? Oh yeah, and what certificates do I have to get? I know how the American sat's work and know an international school 30 minutes away that has the sat's ( I can't transfer there cause it's too expensive). And even if i do the sat's, do I need to go to ap classes? I heard that you can take ib as well, and there are lots of schools here which offer that, but mostly they're international schools and they're expensive and the studies aren't that good either. Oh yeah and my mum is ok with letting me study abroad for my sixth form.

Ice Cream dilemma.......................…

You might try putting a layer of saran wrap on the surface of the ice cream, or putting the container in a zip lock freezer bag. It sounds like air is getting to the ice cream, makes the surface yucky. By the way, the frozen hardness of ice cream is one way to tell if your freezer is working. If it is soft when you scoop it out, the freezer is not cold enough.

First, I would start reading about Issac Newton, as many of his findings have great relevance in the world of physics, especially for general physics. Of particular interest right now is the theory of gravity. Newton was able to describe it, but not explain it. That is one of the biggest things in physics today. What exactly is gravity, and where did it come from. I would recommend reading about it, then to test some things for yourself, go find a nice, tall bridge and jump off of it.

So, the calculations we came up with for the big bang theory?

Is it based on speed divergence alone, essentially in one direction? There isn't any defined central point, right? Is it thought to be that somewhere on the other side of the universe, there is a point in space moving in the exact opposite direction than space is moving where we are? If the theory of exploding from a single point is true, wouldn't it make sense that space is expanding in all directions from that point? If not, couldn't we just say that we are measuring a small blip of time in space that could be moving at different velocities for any given reasons that we haven't yet discovered? I've just been thinking about this in the sense that no central point from which the universe expands has been defined, and that something else could be at play. I obviously don't know much about theoretical astrophysics, so if you could explain this so it makes sense, that would be great.

If I wanna lose weight should I eat before or after working out?

I personally DON'T eat after my work out.... but that is because i do it at like 7 or 8 pm ..... before bed etc... but no... you are not doing anything wrong. At first it won't seem like you are losing mush weight, but after like maybe a month or 2 weeks or something, it will start to melt away. Just keep doing what your doing, keep working, and DON'T give up! I'm been on my diet for a week now and like 2 days, and I haven't noticed much, but I've been told that once my body knows it's to be losing weight, it will start melting away the pounds.... but hey! 4 days.... remember the change doesn't happen over night. What is it you are afraid of? You can feel an inner urge to let go of the things of the world and find yourself, yet I think you are afraid of letting go, which leaves you in two minds. One still attached to your regular life, and one wanting to be released from it. I often have this same problem. To seek enlightenment, you must take vows and follow them strictly. Hence why there are different levels in Buddhism. There is the lay person, who follows the general principles of compassion, non-harm etc. But to seek enlightenment takes more effort and discipline. If you choose this path, you should seek to have a teacher guide you, as it can be quite dangerous to seek enlightenment on your own, since you are still attached to things in life. So, its up to you to choose which path you want to take. If you choose to be a layman, then don't feel bad for not following the path all the time, but just remind yourself and practice being aware, so you know when you aren't doing the right thing. Did I experience a migraine headache?

Yes, that was definantly a migraine. I get them and are followed by doctors. I went what you went through so they put me on a daily medication called Kepra. I'm on 3000 mg a day and get about 1-2 headaches month now! They are difinantly heridiery. My dad gets them and so does my cousin who is actually my age. They can also reoccure. If it does within 24 hours of it going away, its the same headache. I find that alleve or motrin work well along with lots of water or gatorade-gatorade for the electrolytes. (Which helps headaches) also sodium -chips pretzels saltines- can help. These headaches aren't fun, but atleasy 90 percent of americas popultaion get atleast one once. Feel better! Keep me posted!

There aren't a lot of jobs in the field, and almost all of them require a PhD in astronomy or physics. Try the PhD in physics instead; you can do other things with that. Many people spend 8-12 years in college to get a PhD in astrophysics and then have to leave the field because there aren't enough jobs. Most NASA jobs require you be a US citizen; they do hire foreign students as postdocs (temporary research positions) but those are extremely competitive. It won't make you rich, but most astrophysicists live comfortably.

I really need help with syncing to my iPod- songs full of static, AAC versions just don't sync?

I downloaded some songs from iTunes a couple of days ago and then synced them to my iPod (which is manually synced due to my songs being split between computer accounts- long story ^^). The songs themselves synced, but they're full of static or just silence. One in particular you can hardly hear- once the song starts playing, it just becomes quieter and quieter, interspersed with plenty of static. The other songs on my iPod are absolutely fine, it doesn't appear to be a problem with the iPod or the computer. I've tried making AAC format versions of these songs (which are absolutely fine on iTunes, just suddenly damaged on my iPod) but they won't sync- I drag them over to my iPod's icon and nothing happens. It worked before with a song that was just silent. I really need some help, I am so frustrated! Thanks in advance for any answers.

What are these dreams called?

So, when I was 11 I had these dreams for about a month straight, every night to the point where I wouldn't sleep for days because I was so scared of them. There's really no way to explain them, but... OK, so when I fall asleep, I heard a strange noise, like complete silence but with sort of nails against chalkboard, like my ears are going to burst. Then, I open my eyes in the dream, and I'm usually laying excactly where I fell asleep. Sometime's I'll see a scary tall shadow standing at the foot of my bed, and sometimes I'll see nothing but feel like someone going to pop out and stab me. ._. I can't move in these dreams, not at all. I've tried moving, but it hurts and it's pretty much impossible. My parents tell me I talk in these dreams and make moaning noises, and I always wake up with my heart racing and one time I woke up and couldn't breathe and almost had to be rushed to the E.R. In these dreams, I feel like I can barely breath. I try to breath regular, but I can't. It's so hard. I try to just close my eyes and drift into another sleep in these dreams, but the irritating noise and odd feeling in the atmosphere in the dream always deter me. I'm 13 and I'm starting to get these dreams again. I can wake up voluntarily from these dreams by squeezing my eyes as tight as I can in the dream and then opening them. When I was 11, I remember reading something about these dreams, a wife writing about her husband always having the same types of dreams I'm having. He couldn't move in the dream, he was scared in the dream, and he woke up with a fast heart and sometimes couldn't breath. These dreams are extremely scary... you can't feel what I'm talking about unless you have one. It's one of the scariest things ever. It feels like your a tiny rabbit with starving wolves behind every tree while you're in a forest. I just started babysitting a 13 month old and I was shocked when her mom told me that she only took 1 nap a day. Well this is my 3rd day watching her. She falls asleep in the high chair during lunch. I think that is a sign of being too exhausted. Today I put her in my room in the play pin so that my 10 month old could take her nap and there would be silence as she was trying to go to sleep. 10 minutes later I walk in and the little girl im watching is sleeping. But other then that its not that great because it is quickly digested by your body. If you decide that your missing protein though then have one when you get up with a banana. The have one after you workout and one at night but mixed with milk because milk is good for the digestive system before going to bed.

Start adding some protein to your diet.. beans, tofu, (legumes) whole grains (quinoa, brown rice, millet) in moderation with your vegetables. It will keep you fuller much longer and also give you a metabolism boost!

So when I began middle school there was a cute boy named Noah that rode my bus every day. He was in a grade above me and over time we became great friends. As soon as he saw me he frowned, though he just responded "Hm, thanks." in a dull, uncaring voice. WTF HAPPENED? If you go over by 100-200 calories than normal, you will not suddenly bloat up the next day, your body just doesn't work that way. At 14 years old you are still growing, your body still needs food, if you cut that supply short, your body won't be as developed later on. Just eat enough food for now not to feel hungry and get some activity here and there. As you get older you'll even out. After that, if you feel like you have some trouble areas, then that's when you should count calories, but still going over isn't the end of the world.

In any part of the world there are good people and bad peoplee and they will always be. Humans are capable to do really good things too, you just need to be optimistic again :)

I am about to start my senior year of high school. I want to be an astronomy/astrophysics major. But the school that i will most likely go to doesn't have that program (I'm probably going to University of Wisconsin Milwaukee). They do have a physics program -- like most schools. Now, would I be able to get the physics degree, and then be able to go to a graduate school that has the astronomy/astrophysics program and get a masters, and then PhD in that area of study, even though I would have a bachelors in physics? Using bleach, too much on my blanket in the washer?

I washed my blanket a couple times, what happened was I got really sick and had vomit, eew i know~! I could still smell it so I put bleach in the washer and ran it solo and then washed my blanket again with detergent and about 3 detergent size servings of bleach and washed it, I don't care about the blanket, it has some damage to it already but it is a pure white comforter, I just wanna know if it is safe to sleep with it, I am now drying it but it smells like bleach, a strong odor. I'm finishing up a degree in Neuroscience at the moment. How to have better conversations?

whether its with my closest friend or someone from work, i sometimes have trouble keeping up a conversation. I'm good at talking about what were doing, or something were doing later, or something we did, or about something that's going on in my life or their life, but i have trouble just chatting from topic to topic and just talking mindlessly. i'll find myself talking for just a few moments about one thing, but it usually never flows into anything else. i guess im just not a talkative person, or im just too shy, but its getting to the point where i feel like my friends aren't as close to me as they should be, or i'll find myself having an awkward silence with someone at work. and i feel like it just makes people think im an asshole who doesn't like talking to them, when i really do want to. Why is it those with aspergers can seem so intensely focused on astrophysics but really nothing else?

Seems like psychology would be a really stimulating field of study, and could benefit from their intense focus. But why is it something like astrophysics can grab their attention but the field mention previously wouldn't? And I know not all are focused just on that, but a great deal seem more focused on the very difficult fields that require massive amounts of focus and use of the mind for extended hours most would be exhausted mentally.

Ok so I was just at the grocery store ad I picked up kettle corn. The 4 mini bags had a calorie count of 200 per bag but te 3 normal sized is 30 calories per cup popped. There r 2.5 servings so that's 75 calories per bag. How can the smaller bags have more calories? And I looked on the box the bigger 3 bags are the same kettle corn not reduced fat or anything. I'm so curious !
