Astronomy and astrophysics?

Heya, I am an aspiring astrophysicist from India. I have just completed my 10th class and plan to take Maths, Physics and Chemistry in my Intermediate. I would really like to know what exactly astrophysics means, as in, what sort of research is included in it. What branch of Astronomy deals with planets, stars, their temperatures, composition, behaviour, properties etc.? And also, what sort of jobs can you get with Astrophysics in India and the US?
